PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles made a dream come true for a local Navy veteran.

He is Missile Technician First Class, Joseph Amentt reporting for duty - in the end zone of Lincoln Financial Field.

"I was hoping we could do it on the 50 yard line, but it rained and luckily we got to do it in the end zone," said Joe.

The 33-year-old reenlisted on the field after calling the Eagles who agreed to make it happen before he shipped out.

Serving our country is a family tradition and Amentt's brother-in-law - and fellow Navy man - stood by his side.

His brother who serves in the U.S. Army did the honors and his nephew, a boy scout, folded the American flag.

"I feel great, this is like a dream come true. I've actually been in for 14 years and this could potentially be my last reenlistment and this could take me to my 20-year-mark," added Joseph.

His mother, Rose May said, "I'm so very proud of him. He's accomplished a lot in his life; he's definitely an Eagles fan, he's a Navy man."

Joe's dad, Joe Amentt, Sr. said, "Truly proud, came through a lot to do it. He's got perseverance."

"It doesn't change much. We're all here. We're all family. We're all together. It's cold, it's wet, but we're all happy," his sister Rachel Cellini said.

It all took place in the pouring rain. Even though it was covered in tarp, Joseph got the chance to run across the field.

His stepfather, Bob May, is in the ICU and missed the event, so afterwards, the family came to him in the hospital following the ceremony.

Joe's entire family is full of die-hard Eagles fans, in fact on Sunday, they will be all together in Sicklerville, New Jersey, watching the Eagles play the Seahawks.
