HOLLYWOOD (WPVI) -- Action News anchor Sharrie Williams met the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Hollywood ahead of its highly-anticipated release this week!

That includes actress Daisy Ridley, who leads the cast as Rey, a scavenger turned warrior who is strong in The Force.

For those who haven't been following along: the last episode, The Force Awakens, ended with Rey standing on a cliff in the dramatic moment she found Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.

"It's funny because I think the characters in this story are - Rey included- are taken aback by the force connection that Rey has. And I think it's that funny thing of being underestimated, as everyone knows how that feels in real life," she said.

Mark Hamill is back as Skywalker, a larger than life persona he hasn't been able to shake since the beginning of the Star Wars franchise 40 years ago.

In reading the script for The Last Jedi, the veteran actor says he was in total shock.

"What is up with this line: 'It's time for the Jedi to end?'" Sharrie asked.

"When I read that, I was stunned," said Hamill.

"You will be training Rey, though. Is that what we should expect? Where we left off, her handing you your lightsaber?" asked Sharrie.

"Well, that's implied, but like I say: There's another line in the trailer that's not going to go the way you think. And that's so perfect for not only the audience to expect the unexpected, but for me as an actor the script didn't go the way I thought," Hamill said.

In The Force Awakens, we saw a lot of physical journey and this one is more of an emotional one. There is an expansion. There are questions asked, there are things explored, resulting in a Rey who understands everything more.

"So does that mean we'll learn your background, where you come from, who your parents are?" we asked Ridley.

"Maybe," she said.

"Maybe" is an answer we heard from many of the cast members who were mum on the juicy details.

Actor John Boyega can attest to that. He is reprising his role as Finn, the storm trooper who defected from the First Order

He says the level of hush-hush surrounding the epic Episode 8 is at an ultimate high

"So much secrecy, but we love it. We love it. This is how the film and the effect of the story is at its best," said Boyega.
