Six black hearses, carrying six white coffins, arrived at a Houston church today for the funerals of the Texas family murdered execution-style. Under dark skies, an overflowing crowd attended the emotional services for the Stay family. Colorful flowers adorned the caskets of Stephen and Katie Stay, and their children: Bryan, 13, Emily, 9, Rebecca, 7 and Zach, 4.
A sea of floral arrangements, some decorated with teddy bears in memory of the slain children, were delivered to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where ribbons were tied to utility poles in honor of the family.
Last Wednesday, police arrived at the home of Stephen Stay, 39, and Katie Stay, 34, to a scene of carnage: the couple and four of their five children had been killed by a man who had tied them up and shot them execution-style in the back of the head. A private burial was held after the funeral.
