NJ teen seeks stolen locket with father's ashes

LAUREL LAKE, N.J. (WPVI) -- A South Jersey teenager is asking for the public's help in finding a stolen locket that contained her father's ashes.

15-year-old Dominque said she had been wearing the heart-shaped locked around her neck since her father died last spring.

However, after the chain broke, the teen placed it inside her mother's purse for safekeeping.

Then, on Sunday night, someone broke into her mother's car in Laurel Lake, Cumberland County, and stole the bag.

The suspect was actually caught nearby about 30 minutes later.

But while the purse was recovered, Dominique's locket - and her dad's ashes - are still missing.

Thanks to the generosity of the family's friends, a $575 dollar reward is now being offered to anyone who finds the necklace.
