NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for the suspect in a shooting on Wednesday morning in North Philadelphia.

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 15th and Cambridge.

Police said there was a loud, threat-filled argument on the sidewalk involving several men and women.

According to investigators, a man was then shot in the leg by another man who came out of a nearby home and got involved in the fight.

Witnesses told police they saw the suspect entering a home in the 1500 block of Poplar.

Chopper 6 was overhead as officers assembled outside the home.

However, no one was found inside. A gun was recovered, but it is not yet clear if it was the weapon used in the shooting.

The shooting victim was hit in the thigh and was rushed to the hospital. That person's condition is unknown at this time.
