A single ticket sold in Florida won last night's Mega Millions drawing, worth $800 million!
The jackpot continues to grow! No ticket matched all six numbers in the Labor Day drawing, and the jackpot now sits at $1.3 billion for Wednesday's drawing.
"I was in the house and I just opened the drawer and I saw the tickets. I decided to get them checked," the player said, reflecting on a return visit to the store.
Mega Millions is getting a makeover - including more than doubling the price of a ticket - as the multi-state lottery game aims to improve players' odds and dish out bigger jackpots.
New Mega Millions rules will come into play next month, the company has announced, under which the minimum jackpot value will more than double to $50 million.
The lottery says it is overhauling the game and improving jackpot odds. It says to expect more billion-dollar wins in the future.
