The man made a video before the attack, saying he wanted to "kill as many of them as I possibly can," said Jennifer Runyan, head of the FBI in Detroit.
Two people were killed and four were wounded when a suspect drove a car into a group of worshippers and launched a stabbing attack outside a synagogue in Manchester, officials said.
The first video shows a man setting a fire in a dumpster outside the Mikveh Israel Congregation Synagogue on North 4th Street.
All that remained Tuesday was charred debris and broken glass from windows shattered by the flames.
The lobby of the synagogue is filled with artifacts significant to the congregation. Visitors are welcome to stop in to see the items and read about Mikveh Israel's history.
This is the second time in the last two months that Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel was the target of antisemitic vandalism.
