2 arrests after body found in suitcase near Philadelphia International Airport

TINICUM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Two people have been arrested after a man was found dead inside a suitcase near Philadelphia International Airport.

Arrested were Thomas Brennan, 25, of Folsom, Pa. and Crystal Leibhart, 27, of Philadelphia.

The body of 41-year-old Scott Bernheisel was found on May 28th by a man walking his dog in Tinicum Township.

Police say Bernheisel was beaten and robbed inside a home in the 200 block of Wilder Street back on May 22nd.

Investigators say Brennan and Bernheisel both periodically stayed at that address.

Brennan stuffed Bernheisel's body in a sleeping bag, which he then put in a suitcase used by his ex-wife to store Christmas decorations, according to police.

Brennan is charged with: Murder, Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy, Abuse of Corpse and related offenses.

Leibhart is charged with: Robbery, Hindering Apprehension, Obstructing Justice and related offenses.
