Driver hurt after car slams into Mayfair house

MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- A driver was injured after a car slammed into a house in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. on the 3100 block of Levick Street.

Police say the female driver told them she borrowed the car from a friend to drive to work.

Due to a mechanical problem, police say, she lost control of the car.

The driver was able to jump out of the car before it hit the house, police say. The vehicle caused significant damage to the home.

Although the house was occupied, when the incident occurred, no one inside was injured.

The female driver was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital with minor injuries.
