Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Abington

ABINGTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash late Thursday night in Abington Township.

Police say the victim, a 45-year-old man, was apparently speeding in a 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he lost control.

The car ran off the road at Jenkintown Road and Evergreen.

The vehicle hit a fire hydrant and a stone wall before slamming into a utility pole.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has not yet been released.
