Pat's owner makes cheesesteaks in NY after Philly loses friendly wager

WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (WPVI) -- Now to a story you could live wit or witout. It's an update to a cheesesteak faceoff.

Philly, unfortunately, was on the losing end of a friendly wager.

During the recent Knicks versus Sixers NBA Playoff series, two cheesesteak institutions -- one in New York and one in Philadelphia -- made a friendly wager.

The loser had to travel to the other restaurant and cook for a day in the winning team's gear.

And, as we know, the Sixers lost.

Thursday morning, GMA highlighted Frank Olivieri, owner of South Philly's "Pat's King of Steaks," sporting the Knicks blue and orange as he made his famous cheesesteaks at Dario's Pizza in West Hempstead, Long Island.

"I figured it would be a good way to extend some Brotherly Love to our brothers up in New York and Long Island," Olivieri said.

Dario's sold close to 200 cheesesteaks for the three hours Olivieri was there.
