PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- With 118 years of history, the Settlement Music School continues to help local students hit a high note.
One of its programs, Music Education Pathways, has been benefitting students for the past 10 years. It offers free afterschool programming including band, orchestra, choir, and drumline at 10 sites.
The program is supported by the William Penn Foundation. It has also received support from the Philadelphia Mayor's Office of Education and PHMC, which allowed them to expand to two new schools this year.
Those schools are Forrest Elementary School and Anne Frank Elementary School in Northeast Philadelphia.
