Surfer saves young girl caught in rip current in Seaside Heights, New Jersey

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. (WPVI) -- A surfer sprang into action to make a life-saving rescue at the Jersey Shore.

The surfer grabbed a young girl who was caught in a rip current at Seaside Heights around 7 p.m. Sunday.

He kept her on his board until search and rescue teams could get there.

The emergency crews then took the girl to shore by jet ski.
