Woman accidentally donates husband's secret cash to Goodwill

PLACENTIA, Calif. (WPVI) -- A Southern California woman accidentally donated her husband's secret cash savings to Goodwill.

Linda Hoffman donated a bag of clothes to a Goodwill store in Placentia last week.

Unbeknownst to her, her husband Bob had placed an envelope containing $8,000 in cash in the pocket of one of the shirts she donated.

Hoffman says her husband revealed his surprise plan to take her to Italy when he realized the shirt was gone.

They rushed to the donation center, but had no luck finding the clothes.

Hoffman had almost given up hope until one employee came across a pile of shirts, including the one with the hidden cash, and returned the money.
