Annual kite festival takes flight in Wildwood

WILDWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) -- Friday was a perfect day to say "yes" to the person that told you to go fly a kite.

Dozens of kids did just that in Wildwood, New Jersey.

This weekend is the 30th annual Wildwoods International Kite Festival - so these young people got the event started with their own event.

There were kites of every color - and even a few cartoon characters flying above the beach.

The kite festival officially starts Friday night with an illuminated kite fly on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue.
