Victims of disbarred lawyer recover nearly $2 million

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - January 19, 2008 The last round of payments was made yesterday.

Former Audubon attorney Dennis O'Brien bilked clients to the tune of $2.7 million before being arrested in 2003. He's serving an 18-year prison sentence.

One of his victims was an Audubon man who had saved more than $1 million so his adult autistic son wouldn't have to live in a group home.

O'Brien stole almost all of the money.

Others duped by O'Brien included the heirs of Edith Fore, the Mount Ephraim woman famous for saying in a commercial "I've fallen and can't get up."
