The Kettering University student has built a half-scale Panzer tank, complete with a working air cannon.
It's powered by a three-cylinder diesel engine, with treads and running gear from construction equipment.
He often parks the tank outside his frat house on the campus in Flint, Michigan.
A sign warns: "Panzer parking. Violators will be totaled."
Foster's tank project has led to a summer job working on the real thing.
The Flint Journal reports he's been hired by armored-vehicle maker Force Protection Incorporated.
