Mayor Nutter takes gun control fight to Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - May 27, 2008 Nutter told a Pennsylvania Press Club luncheon in Harrisburg on Tuesday that he's interested in "a different kind of dialogue" and that both sides have to be more realistic.

He says "gun violence is not just a big-city problem, it's a growing problem all across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania."

Nutter's priorities include requiring people to tell police when their guns are lost or stolen, and a crackdown on assault weapons."

"We cannot have freedom, we cannot have safety as long as these types of weapons are on our streets," he said.
