Police say 33-year old Juan Mingucha and his 31-year old wife Marisol Santos-Mingucha left their 10-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter inside their Mitsubishi Mirage for at least an hour while they played the slot machines in the casino.
Around 4 p.m. Saturday, a security guard found the children alone and was taking them to the security office when he was approached by the mother. She and the father were then taken into custody. Police say surveillance video shows the couple walking hand-in-hand into the casino after leaving the children in the parking lot.
Both parents are charged with endangering the welfare of a child and are free on $300 bail. The children were turned over to family members after the state Division of Family Services was notified.
