Pennsylvania State Police arrested Maryann Grant and charged her with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and other related Crimes that occurred within Red Hill Borough, Montgomery Township, Montgomery County.
Grant was treasurer for the Valley Soccer club from February 2003 to March 2007 in the Upper Perkiomen Valley, Montgomery County.
During an audit at the end of her tenure, the new treasurer discovered problems and reported them to police who conducted their own investigation. Officers found evidence that from April 2004 through March 2008, Grant made over $73,704.63 in personal, unauthorized ATM withdrawals, internet transactions and check purchases. Some of the withdrawals were while Grant was vacationing in Florida.
Grant's bail has been set at $50,000, and a preliminary hearing is slated for next week.
