Taking a gamble with this auction

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - July 1, 2008

That's what Wayne Blair says about storage unit auctions.

He's one of the largest auctioneers of storage units in the Midwest.

The contents of the units are put up for bid when renters default.

But auction buyers have to take a gamble.

They don't know what's in the units when they bid on them.

Blair tells Michigan's Grand Rapids Press the storage unit maybe contain junk or treasure.

One buyer found a Honda Gold Wing touring motorcycle.

Another paid 65 bucks for a container with $44,000.

But there was a big catch -- the dough turned out to be counterfeit.
