Teens honor their favorite stars at Choice Awards

LOS ANGELES (AP) - August 3, 2008 The star of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" is set to host Sunday's 10th annual Teen Choice Awards, which will shower celebrities with dozens of surfboard trophies in film, TV, music, sports and fashion categories.

Cyrus may sail away with a few of her own surfboards. She has four nominations.

Other multiple nominees include the television show "Gossip Girl," singers Chris Brown, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, the Jonas Brothers and Lil Mama.

Presenters such as "American Idol" winner David Cook and "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad are expected to hand out more than 30 awards as selected by teen voters online at a two-hour ceremony held at Universal Studios Hollywood's Gibson Amphitheatre.

Serving double duty as both host and musical guest, Cyrus is scheduled to perform her new single "7 Things" while Mariah Carey is slated to sing "I'll Be Lovin' You Long Time." Cyrus and friend Mandy Jiroux's dance crews are also expected to compete in a dance-off in front of an audience packed with teenagers and celebrities.

The Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
