New Castle County Police say they've arrested Robert Drendall, 24, of the 2000 block of Maple Lane in Claymont Heights. Investigators say they were called to the home shortly after noon on Thursday for a report of shots fired. Once there officers surrounded the home, and within moments a police say Drendall came out with his hands in the air. He was taken into custody.

Police executed a search warrant, and discovered a large cache of weapons inside. Officers say they found:

-Four homemade "potato guns"

-A flare gun and shotgun rounds altered to be fired from the gun

-More than 100 knives

-Homemade swords

-Numerous "air soft" guns

-A flash bang (usually used by SWAT officers)

-Bomb making materials

Police discovered the weapon used in the reported shots fired complaint was an MP5 style air soft gun, not a traditional or real weapon.

The investigation has revealed Drendall was out on bail pending an unrelated incident where he pointed a handgun at two people during a domestic dispute on June 7, 2008.

Drendall has been arraigned and released after posting $1,900 secured bail.

He was also ordered not to possess any types of weapons including BB guns.
