Cabbie shot by rider in Germantown

GERMANTOWN - February 4, 2009

About 10:30 Tuesday night, the cabbie was answering a call for a ride when he pulled up to a house on the unit block of East Bringhurst Street.

Police say a man walked out of a house, approached the cabbie, pulled a gun and shot him in the chest.

Medics took the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say the gunman was trying to rob the cabbie.

There's no word on whether the suspect made off with any money.

Investigators are getting the identities of those who live in the house that the suspect walked out of, but have not said yet if they know who pulled the trigger.

So far, police have not made any arrests.
