Trespassers cut off horse's tail in Pa.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - February 8, 2009 The incident happened in Whitehall Township, near Allentown, about two weeks ago.

Messina Victoria, whose native name is Flies Strong Woman, says police told her the act could have been a prank or that whoever did it may have wanted to sell the hair.

The horse, named Hawk, has a stable mate that was unscathed.

A few years ago, someone also hit Hawk with a board, blinding his left eye and knocking out several teeth.

Police say the recent incident remains under investigation and that no one has come forward with information. They also say that no other similar attacks have been reported in the area.
