Burglar drops cell phone, mom calls

NEW CASTLE, Del. - February 22, 2009 On Sunday at 5:45 p.m., County Police responded to a home in the 2400 block of E. Paris Drive, in the Cedarcrest Community, for a report of a burglary in progress. When police arrived, they contacted the 40-year-old male victim who reported he was just startled by a male subject who had broken into his home. The victim indicated he was sitting on the couch when he heard the sound of an unknown subject opening his basement door and then walking into the den.

The victim then stood up and shouted at the subject who immediately ran through the home and out of the front door. In his haste to escape, the suspect dropped his cell phone on the ground just outside of the victim's home. While police searched the area, the victim found the cell phone and turned it over to the investigators.

The phone then rang at which time the caller's name flashed on the display indicating the call was from "mom." The caller was in fact the mother of Sean Klosiewicz who was trying to reach him.

After confirming his identity, police continued the search and located Klosiewicz walking along Kirkwood Highway near the Midway Shopping Center. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with burglary related offenses. He has been arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Prison after failing to post $3,500 secured bail.
