Teens arrested for Wilmington street robbery

WILMINGTON, Del. - March 17, 2009 - It happened around 2:30 p.m Monday at 4th and Broom Streets. Police were contacted by employees of "Downtown Visions" who were watching the assault on a surveillance camera.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman, told police she was beaten and robbed of her groceries by the three attackers. She was struck in the head with a stroller and punched in the face.

When officers arrived, the employees say they watched the suspects run into a house in the 200 block of North Clayton Street. As officers entered, the Downtown Visions workers watched as two suspects ran out of the rear door. One was immediately captured and arrested, the other escaped and is now wanted on a warrant.

That man is identified as 23 year old Kashiem Lang of S. Franklin Street.

A third suspect was found hiding in the basement. The house was the home of one of the robbers.

Two teens, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were taken to the New Castle County Detention Center.

Anyone with information about Lang's whereabouts is asked to call police.
