HAVERFORD TWP., Pa. - March 24, 2009 - Investigators say a co-worker of the 63-year-old female victim called police on Monday morning to say she had not come to work and did not call in, which was unusual.

An employee of the 66-year-old male victim also contacted police about a disturbing message the man had left him.

Police responded to the home in the 1300 block of Edgewood Road, where they found both victims dead of gunshot wounds in the upstairs bedroom.

The woman had suffered a gunshot wound, while the man had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say the gun was recovered at the scene.

Investigators say the man had left a note indicating that he had become despondent over financial and health issues.

The name of victims are being withheld, pending notification of relatives.
