Pa. Turnpike closed by accident re-opens

The Pennsylvania turnpike was closed Friday night Westbound between Willow Grove and Fort Washington after a tractor-trailer accident. It happened around 9:30 p.m. near Limekiln Pike.

The driver of a tractor-trailer lost control of his rig and hit a concrete median.

Fuel was also spilled on the road.

Two people were taken to area hospitals.

There is no word yet on their conditions.

The westbound lanes, and all but one eastbound lanes, were closed until 2 a.m. Saturday morning, when crews cleared the wreckage.
