Police: Teacher, students had sex at shore

MILLVILLE, N.J. - June 12, 2009 - The Cumberland County prosecutor announced Friday that Michael Drebes, 37, a math teacher at Millville Memorial High School, was arrested in June 4th and charged with aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and official misconduct.

Prosecutors in Cape May county alleged that Drebes had sex with two teen girls, a 14-year-old current student and a 16-year-old former student, in a hotel room in Cape May.

Police say Drebes travelled with the girls from Cumberland County. They also say Drebes was in a four-month relationship with the 14-year-old.

None of the alleged assaults over that four-month period occurred on school property, investigators said.

Drebes has worked at Millville Memorial High for five years. He is currently in police custody.

The Cape May County prosecutor's office has charged Drebes him with aggravated sexual assault upon a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault.

Charges are pending in Camden County.

Investigators are concerned there may be more victims. If anyone has any information they are urged to contact police.
