Body in bag found along railroad tracks

July 17, 2009 4:48:50 AM PDT
A body wrapped in a large bag has been found wedged under railroad tracks in the Parkside section of Philadelphia.

Police responded to a tip call late Thursday night, and went to the railroad tracks along 52nd Street and Lancaster Avenue.

Witnesses tell Action News that the body was wrapped in a bag and tucked under the tracks.

Investigators say the body is so badly decomposed that officers have not been able to determine if it is that of a man or woman.

An autopsy will be conducted to try to identify the body and determine the cause of death.
