4 teenagers charged in deliveryman's death

WEST OAK LANE - January 11, 2010 Those charged are 14-year-old Demetrius Robinson, 14-year-old Dominique Jones, 17-year-old Talan Baldwin and 18-year-old Rasheed Ceasar.

The death of Jaime Orozco, 60, has been ruled a homicide by investigators.

Police say shortly before 6:00 p.m. Sunday, 60-year-old Orozco, was delivering a pie for Ed's Pizza, when he was carjacked at the intersection of 20th Street and Godfrey Avenue.

"He was just here to work and do his job. That's the only reason he was here, to send money to his family in Colombia," said Prince Rainier of Ed's Pizza.

During the carjacking Orozco, also known as "Poppy," suffered a heart attack.

Poppy's friend Sam Adams and his son-in-law were called to the scene to help the 60-year-old where they found him lying in the road.

"He was hyperventilating, he couldn't get his breath," Adams said.

His last words were said to have been, "20th and Godfrey, 20th and Godfrey."

Medics transported Orozco to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police quickly put out a bulletin for his red Nissan and it was found a short time later

After the carjacking, police took one person in for questioning. However, investigators on Monday afternoon said that man had been released.

Family members say Orozco was an engineer in Colombia, but came to the United States four years ago to find work. He was trying to save enough money to go back to Colombia, where his wife, daughter and grandchild remain.

They also say Orozco had heart bypass surgery in late 2008.
