MLK Day volunteers skate for free

The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation and the City of Philadelphia are offering free public ice skating at three Philadelphia-area ice skating rinks on Monday, January 18, 2010, as part of the Martin Luther King Day of Service.

Volunteer community service opportunities will occur at the three rinks at 10:00 a.m. They will be followed by the free ice-skating sessions at 1:30 p.m.

The three participating rinks are the Laura Sims Skatehouse at Cobbs Creek at 63rd and Walnut streets, the Scanlon Ice Rink at 1099 East Venago Street, and the Simons Ice Rink at 7200 Woolston Avenue.
