Punxsutawney Phil vindicated, snow falls in Pa.

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. - February 3, 2010

A day after Phil's Groundhog Day prediction of six more weeks of winter, a few inches of snow fell across much of eastern Pennsylvania, delaying school and making some roads slick.

The National Weather Service says 3½ inches fell in New Holland, Lancaster County. Between 1 1/2 and 2 inches fell across the Philadelphia region.

Many school districts in central Pennsylvania and east toward the Philadelphia suburbs were delayed Wednesday morning. Philadelphia's public schools are opening on time.
