Sometimes couples who seem like they're in it for the long haul, break up.
That's what's happened with Jim Carrey and Jennifer McCarthy.
They each tweeted that after five years, they've ended their relationship.
Carrey writes he wishes her "the very best!"
And, McCarthy is back at him, saying she'll "always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart."
Both say they're grateful for the time they were together.
McCarthy also tweeted that she would remain involved in the life of Carrey's adult daughter.
Carrey and McCarthy are not saying why they've broken up.
