The fire broke out around midnight in an occupied 2-story home on the 2400 block of West Newport Pike. The building was converted into two apartments. Two adults, a juvenile and their dog safely escaped the second floor apartment. An elderly male escaped the first floor apartment.
Several firefighters were treated for minor burns at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
There is no word at this time on suspects. The investigation continues.
