ELKTON, Md. (AP) - June 5, 2010

Maryland State Police say 30-year-old Dwayne Williams of New Castle, Del., was gunned down early Saturday morning in Elkton.

Investigators say he made a false 911 call. Then when officers arrived to a parking lot, Williams pointed his gun and fired at the officers.

Neither officer was struck by the gunfire. Both officers have been placed on routine administrative leave while an investigation continues.
