Bam Margera released from hospital after assault

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - June 14, 2010

Officers responded to the 50 block of South Matlock Street just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday for a report of an assault.

Once there, witnesses told police 59-year-old Elizabeth Ray struck Margera in the head with a bat. Ray was taken into custody for aggravated assault and other related charges.

Officials say Margera, famous for his role in the MTV series "Jackass" and "Viva La Bam", was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released. According to Bam's mother, April, he suffered a concusion in the attack.

The alleged assault happened around the corner from Margera's bar "The Note" located at 142 East Market Street.

Police do not know what sparked the confrontation at this time.
