Man who killed Phila. commuter dies in NJ prison

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) - July 8, 2010

Authorities say Ryshaone Thomas was found unconscious and alone in his cell at New Jersey State Prison in Trenton on July Fourth. He was pronounced dead at 5 a.m.

A Corrections Department spokeswoman would not comment on the cause of the 32-year-old's death.

Thomas and Marcus Toliver were convicted of killing Christine Eberle after abducting the 27-year-old from a Camden commuter train parking lot in 2001.

Eberle was an accountant who worked in Philadelphia and lived in Washington Township.

Thomas and Toliver were sentenced to 43 years in prison.

Toliver's earliest possible release date is in 2038.
