3-year-old among four shot in W. Kensington

WEST KENSINGTON - September 10, 2010

Numerous rounds from several guns flying, they say, in every directions.

"At 6:45 on a Friday afternoon on a beautiful day, it's still sunny out; it just goes to show you how brazen these individuals are," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Four people were shot, two men, 25 and 26 years of age, as well as a 36-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter, who she was carrying at the time.

The mother was shot in the abdomen. The child suffered a graze wound to the head as the pair stood on the front steps of their home.

All four are in stable condition and are expected to survive.

"We have some witnesses…however, we are getting information initially that it was just a group of males who fled on foot," Small said.

Police it appears the shooting was drug related.

Police say the area is known to be a hotbed of drug activity.

The hail of bullets was so widespread that two houses, a nearby business, and a car were also hit.

As of now, police have no suspects and no clear descriptions that could help track them down.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
