John Hopkins says he walked to a nearby corner deli at 20th Street and Indiana Avenue and left Lady, a 1-year old Havanese, and a yorkiepooh outside briefly.
When he returned, the yorkiepooh was there, but Lady was gone.
This was especially troubling to the family because Lady just gave birth 1-week ago to 8 puppies.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lady should call Philadelphia Police.
