Police and members of the Strangler Task Force scoured the wooded area on the 100 block of Tusculum in Kensington.
They waded through syringe needles and drug packets. That is where the body of 27 year old Casey Mahoney was found last month.
DNA evidence linked her death to those of 21 year old Elaine Goldberg and 35 year old Nicole Piacentini. Each victim raped and strangled; each left dead in abandoned Kensington lots.
"The guy's in the area. He's a danger. The community is upset about it and they want him off the street before he kills again," said John Apeldorn of the Citizens Crime Commission.
Police believe the assault suspect in the surveillance video could be the Kensington strangler.
He is described as a black man in his early 20s; 5'7" to 5'10" tall, weighing 170 pounds, and known to walk with a distinctive gait.
Police have also been distributing a flyer, showing a sketch of the suspect wanted for the rape attacks.
"We want people to understand that composite is for the rapist. That individual is not necessarily the one who is responsible for the three murders. So if you believe that you may have someone who may fit the profile of an individual who may have been around the area, or maybe a male who was seen walking with females in the given area that may not look like the individual that was on the composite, please still call with the information and give us an opportunity to check it out, because it may just be the person we are looking for," said Lt. Norman Davenport of the Philadelphia Police.
A $37,000 dollar reward is being offered, $7,000 for a DNA match to the Kensington strangler and the rest for the killer's capture and conviction.

"But if you've got something, get him off the street, because this guy is dangerous, number one, and number two, he's going to kill again," said Apeldorn.
