Body of missing woman found in Delco ravine

BROOKHAVEN, Pa. - February 4, 2011

Police responded to a call of car that had gone over an embankment on Route 352 and Hilltop Road in Brookhaven Delaware County shortly before 11pm Friday night.

A preliminary identification matched the vehicle description of the Oldsmobile 88 that belonged to 34-year-old Ronda Garnett.

Garnett was reported missing on Wednesday, January 26 when she did not come home after leaving her job at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Lima that morning.

Reports say she called her mother to say she wasn't feeling well and was on her way home to pick up her three young children. She never arrived.

While the circumstances appear to be an accident, authorities are treating the area as a crime scene.

Police have not said whether the car and body had been in the ravine since last Wednesday's snow storm, but there did not appear to be any skid marks.

An exact cause of death has not been determined.
