Senior phone service credited with saving life

NEWARK, Del. - May 5, 2011

The Senior Roll Call Lifeline checked in on the woman who lives in an apartment on Welsh Tract Road.

When she didn't answer the phone Wednesday morning, the lifeline called her neighbors.

That's when neighbor Danielle Waters found the elderly woman on the floor; she had fallen out of bed while sleeping.

She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The Senior Roll Call Lifeline is a free program that calls the homes of its subscribers every day to make sure they are doing well. For more information about Senior Roll Call Lifeline or to sign up a loved one, call the New Castle County Police Community Services Unit at 302-395-8050.
