Penn National Gaming, Inc. announced Wednesday that its takeover of the M Resort in Henderson follows its purchase in October 2010 of outstanding debt from Bank of Scotland for $230.5 million, and requisite regulatory approvals.
In a statement, company chief Peter M. Carlino says he expects M Resort operating results will rise as the Las Vegas economy improves.
The company says M Resort developer Anthony Marnell III will remain as president of the 390-room property. It cost about $1 billion and opened in March 2009 off Interstate 15 about 10 miles south of the Las Vegas Strip.
Wyomissing, Pa.-based Penn National operates 26 facilities in 17 states and the Canadian province of Ontario.
