Pa. official: 11 sheep likely killed by lightning

POTTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) -June 30, 2011

Ray Kolb, chairman of the East Coventry Township Board of Supervisors, says a woman found the dead sheep while walking on Wednesday morning.

Kolb tells The Mercury of Pottstown that the sheep were found lying in a circle and there was evidence of a lightning strike at the scene. A storm had come through the area at about the same time that night.

The farm is about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
