Nine New Year's Eve gunfire arrests in Phila.

PHILADELPHIA - January 2, 2012

Police say the following men spent New Year's Day in jail as a result of the incidents for which they are charged:

36-year-old Rickadmus Abrokwa of the 2500 block of North 32nd Street, for standing in front of his residence firing a silver handgun into the air and then pointing the gun at police. Abrokwa was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act and related offenses.

24-year-old Jamal Dutton of the 1200 block of Fairmount Avenue, for firing a shotgun out his window. Dutton was charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.

27-year-old Anthony Walker of the 200 block of West Champlost, for operating a 2007 Dodge Charger and discharging a firearm in the air while driving in the 2300 block of West Indiana Avenue. Walker was arrested and charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.

21-year-old William Jenkins of the 2700 block of West Silver Street and 34-year-old Tony Wallace of the 2700 block of West Seltzer Street, for holding black handguns in their hands and shooting into the air in the 2700 block of Seltzer Street. Jenkins and Wallace were arrested and charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.

25-year-old Robert Green of the 4600 block of Tolbut Street, for leaving a home on the 500 block of East Cornwall Street and firing a black handgun into the air. Green was arrested charged Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.

38-year-old Nariman Akhmerov of the 10000 block of Bridle Street, for sticking his arm out the 2nd floor window of his apartment and firing a handgun into the air. Akhmerov was arrested and charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.

37-year-old Steven Guilford of the 4900 block of Hoopes Street, for holding a handgun over his head and firing into the air in the 400 block of Ramsey Street. Guilford was arrested and charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.

57-year-old Kevin Ward of the 500 block of Redfield Street, whom officers confronted after hearing extremely loud gunfire which sounded like it was coming from inside the house. Ward told allegedly told them, "I was shooting the tree, I was celebrating. I do this every year". Ward was arrested and charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, Recklessly Endangering another Person and related offenses.
