Local Marine sees son born from Afghanistan

BRISTOL TWP., Pa. - February 17, 2012

The baby was born at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol on Tuesday.

The baby boy was born on Tuesday, and his dad witnessed his birth.

The cries were a wonderful sound to Marine Lance Corporal, Tim Kinkade, and the sight of newborn Vincent Arthur was even more a delight.

Baby Vinny was born on Valentine's Day, and dad was there for his arrival.

"He was right there the entire time, saying 'Breathe, push, breath.' I put the baby on me, and he got to see him right there," said new Mom Christine Kinkade.

Lance Corporal Kinkade has been in Helmand, Afghanistan for nearly four years, this is his second deployment, and he is looking forward to holding his infant son.

"Hopefully I will get to see him in a few months," said Cpl. Kinkade. "We are stationed in Hawaii, so we'll be back in Hawaii in a few months, and then we'll all be together."

Christina and Tim married on the beach in Hawaii last May. When she became pregnant, she figured it would be a girl. There hasn't been a boy on her side of the family in 55 years. They have all been girls until Vinny.

"My mom had four, my aunt had three, and now finally, we don't know what we will do with a boy," said Christina.

His maternal grandmother can't wait to spoil him.

By next January, Tim and Christina hope to be back in Levittown for good; one month before Vinny's first birthday.

Christine is sure that he will be ruling the house by then.
