Student suffers head injury in school fight

WILMINGTON, Del. - March 8, 2012

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Howard High School at 401 E. 12th Street in Wilmington.

Police tell Action News that two students were involved in a fight. One student, described as the aggressor, was picked up and thrown to the floor.

Medics transported that student, who suffered a head injury, from the school as a trauma alert to Christiana Hospital.

The other student involved suffered a gash to the wrist during the fight. That student was also taken to Christiana Hospital.

New Castle County Vocational Technical spokesperson Kathy Demarest says only two students were involved, a 9th and a 10th grade student.

Demarest says at this time any disciplinary action will be determined pending the outcome of the police investigation.
