Police: Del. daycare workers encouraged toddlers to fight

DOVER, Del. - August 20, 2012

Police say the incident was captured on cell phone video in March 2012 at the Hands of our Future LLC Daycare at 868 South State Street in Dover.

The video allegedly shows three women, all employees of the daycare, watching and encouraging two 3-year-olds to fight each other while at the daycare.

Action News has learned that the video was discovered during an unrelated investigation, when a man showed it to a police officer. That officer then notified detectives.

Tiana Harris, 19, of Forrest Creek Drive in Dover; Estefania Myers, 21, of Dickens Lane in Felton, Delware; and Lisa Parker, 47, of S. Governors Blvd. in Dover each have been charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and other offenses.

The daycare has been closed and the facility's business license suspended pending the outcome of a hearing.

Police will host a meeting Monday at 6:00 pm at the Dover Police Department for parents or legal guardians of children who attended the Hands of Our Future Daycare.

Authorities will answer questions and help guide parents in making other daycare arrangements.
